What-If Analysis - Part II

In the previous video, the Data Table calculated the average logistics costs and average delivery days for each percentage of orders we defined. In this segment, you will learn how to create a summary of multiple scenarios to compare outcomes effectively.

The demonstration showed how to generate a summary table using the What-If Scenario Summary. Two extreme cases were analysed:

  • 100% of orders assigned to FASTWHEELS
  • 100% of orders assigned to SHIP2HOME

Earlier, Goal Seek analysis for the Bangalore-Delhi route indicated that 75% of orders should be allocated to FASTWHEELS to reduce the average delivery days from 4.8 to 4. The same approach can be applied to other routes to optimise delivery efficiency.

Final Distribution Insights

The summary table shows the distribution of orders, average delivery days, and average costs for FASTWHEELS:

  • Routes where FASTWHEELS has lower average delivery cost and delivery days than SHIP2HOME receive 100% of orders. For example, all local routes like Bangalore-Bangalore and Delhi-Delhi.
  • Routes where FASTWHEELS is better in both delivery cost and days also receive 100% of orders, leaving SHIP2HOME with 0%. For example, Bangalore-Chennai.
  • Routes that do not fall into the above categories are optimised using Goal Seek by fixing the average delivery days to 4. For example, Bangalore-Delhi.

This structured approach ensures the most efficient distribution of orders based on delivery cost and time.

In the next segment, you will learn how to present your results in a visual dashboard.
