Advanced Report Formatting

In this segment, you will learn how to enhance your report by applying borders, adjusting border styles, using text wrapping, and utilizing other formatting options.

For reports such as hospital charges across multiple states or regions, maintaining clear readability is essential so that readers can easily distinguish between states and their respective subregions.

The next video will show how to use borders effectively to organize and separate different sections of your report, improving both clarity and visual appeal.

In the previous video, you saw how borders help make a dataset more readable by clearly defining section boundaries and highlighting key information.

In the next segment, you will learn how to apply borders manually. This technique is especially useful for formatting specific cells that are irregularly arranged or do not align with the standard grid layout.

In the previous video, you learned about various border formatting options and how to apply them effectively.

Next, we will focus on another useful feature: wrap text. This allows you to make full use of the cell space and ensures that all content is visible without cutting off text.

As shown in the previous video, using the wrap text feature allows you to maximize cell space and prevent data from being truncated. You can also auto-adjust row height by double-clicking the row border and use alignment tools to properly position content, making your printed reports cleaner and easier to read.

In the next video, we will look at more advanced formatting techniques to further improve the presentation and readability of your data.

As discussed in the previous video, some formatting tools are not directly visible on the main toolbar. To access these additional features, you can click the small launcher icon found in the bottom-right corner of each formatting group, as shown in the illustration.

Clicking this icon opens a full menu with more formatting options. You can also use the shortcut Ctrl + 1 to access the same menu quickly. This helps you refine your data presentation and improve clarity with ease.

With this, you have completed the report formatting module. You should now be confident in creating reports that are both well-structured and visually easy to read. A well-formatted report not only improves readability but also makes analysis and interpretation faster.

In the next segment, we will move on to an area that is often handled incorrectly: printing an Excel report.
